I rarely get excited about product launches. While I’m always happy to see a factory iterate on an existing product or create something new, a factory rarely launches a product that truly wows me.
ERCO has done that with Eclipse.
I’ll be sending more information in the coming weeks, including links to register for a zoom and a specific time, but in the meantime, please save the date. This is a product demo you will not want to miss.
No, not all LED high bays are the same. Better design leads to better long term performance and less overall cost. That’s what Flex Lighting Solutions is all about.
Edison Price has long been a storied name in the architectural lighting industry. For many of us, Edison Price taught us what to expect from an architectural luminaire manufacturer. Their recent decline in stature and the news of their sale has saddened so many of us. Fortunately, long time rival Litelab is here to help.
RGBNYC is a brand new exhibit at Color Factory in NY. It’s a floor to ceiling mural painted in the primary colors (of light) Red, Green, and Blue as well as White. Each color depicts its own NY-themed mural. The lighting trick comes in when you hit the mural with saturated color the different murals are revealed…
While we might not be ready to get back to work as normal. We can return normal-ish. With LEDucation going virtual, and no other trade events happening in the area through the end of the year, it's time to think about how we can keep your designs fresh with new products and options. Whether that means booking a hybrid presentation, home delivery of a sample, or a zoom call, I'm here to keep you going.
“OPEN” is a series of temporary light art installations occupying a selection of storefronts in the East Village. Visitors are invited to discover the neighborhood anew via a mapped out night walk. The walk links both empty and occupied storefronts transformed through a mix of light projections and radiant effusions of color. Sponsored by the Designers Lighting Forum of New York (DLFNY), the Flint Collective NYC partnered with lighting manufacturers and local business owners to respond to a city transformed by the global pandemic. In the rhythm of closed storefronts OPEN offers an optimistic pause of light and color.
If there's been a theme to 2020, it's been - adaptation. It's become a trope to harp on the uncertainty ahead I won't indulge that impulse. Instead, let's talk about what was already happening and what COVID-19 is accelerating. I started Delivered Lumens about 18 months ago because it was already challenging to find time in the schedule to make in-person presentations. Billable hours are valuable; there are more products and frankly, more reps than ever in the NY market vying for your time. Delivered Lumens was set up as a way to keep having the lighting conversation on your schedule.
Right now, it feels like life right now is lived from zoom call to zoom call. So when one of my designers emailed with a question about how to get light across a 20-foot ceiling, it was a breath of fresh air... Oh yeah! Helping designers! Helping make cool light! That's what I normally do! So I sat at my iPad and make the above sketch and it was rudimentary, and fun and it brought me back to what I really love to do.
