When ALW acquired V2, they pulled in a respected name in specification lighting. At the heart of that respect are the Core and Qube cylinders. It isn't easy to separate yourself from the pack of lighting manufacturers, but I think ALW has done it with these products. In this five minute video, I'll go over Core and Qube's essential features, light up a demo unit, and discuss some of the customizable options.
When dropped ceilings were main design statement, the default mode was the 2x2 and 2x4 troffer. Now that open ceilings and exposed mechanical gear is the trendy aesthetic, we see more suspended lines of light in our spaces, so much so it’s become the default for so many offices, healthcare and hospitality environments. But we can always do better and always create more inspiring environments.
Kitchen islands operate as the centerpiece of the kitchen where food is prepared, breakfast is eaten, and guests are entertained. If your family has at least one cook, the center island is often the thriving heartbeat of the home where all the significant conversations happen, and the family can come together. So from a design perspective, kitchen islands have to be both highly functional, but the light should also convey a sense of warmth and invitation. Let’s explore some ideas for kitchen island lighting.
