Casambi is the Platform for Wireless Controls
The world of controls is changing, no doubt about it. These systems are getting smarter, more nimble, and easier to work with. One of the control manufacturers who are leading the way when it comes to that change is Casambi. They pioneered the world of Bluetooth lighting controls and created an open platform for making lighting control devices wirelessly controllable.
If you think of Casambi as a platform more than a single control system, then you’ll start to understand the structure. Essentially anything can be added to the Casambi control system through their robust ecosystem of enabled parts and pieces.
In this Ten in the Shed, I introduce Casambi through the lens of a small restaurant project. This simple system with a few different fixture types is a way for us to break into how we begin to specify a Casambi wireless system.
A few key points to remember:
All SDA needs is an RCP and load schedule to put together a Casambi system
There is a host of Casambi-enabled, fixtures, sensors, switches and dimmers, so virtually any luminaire or load type can go on the system.
You can change programming, scenes, or light levels at any time with the app, without the need for a system commissioner.
