I guess everyone has a podcast these days....

When I spoke at the IES conference last year, the theme of the talk was that the lighting community needed to share its passion for light and lighting design with the larger culture before there was a project at hand. We need to elevate the importance and value of light in our culture. It’s one thing to say that in a talk, but in the subsequent months, I decided it was best to demonstrate what I mean.

That’s why I started the Delivered Lumens podcast. My first episode is live; it’s available in audio-only format (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher) and on Youtube.

The idea of the show is to have conversations with lighting experts and advocates about what they are passionate about in a way that brings non-lighting people into the conversation. My first episode is a great example of this kind of conversation. I was fortunate enough to have Erin McDannald of Lighting Environments join me to talk about the merger of lighting and technology, advancing the art of lighting controls, and we even got into the metaverse.
